The 49ers 2017 first round pick has managed to find trouble with the law again for the second time in a month. Most worrying is that trouble seems to follow the stud linebacker, with Foster having travelled back across the country to Santa Clara where he was arrested today.
Santa Clara County Jail had reportedly been housing the 23 year old linebacker after he was picked up in Los Gatos for unknown charges. There seems to be a lot of speculation going on as to what the charges are against Foster but we will not partake in that. There are also mixed reports on his bail situation. San Francisco Chronicle’s own Sarah Ravani and Eric Branch stated that the first round pick was being held without bail (https://www.sfchronicle.com/crime/article/49ers-Foster-arrested-domestic-violence-12605724.php), while Niners Nation’s Jennifer Lee Chan countered that claim saying that bail was set at $75,000 and was pending or already done (resulting in his release).

Various sites are speculating that this is a Domestic Violence situation and others are claiming that there may even have been a “possession of an assault rifle” involved.
The team has issued the following –
Statement from the San Francisco 49ers:
“The San Francisco 49ers organization is aware of the report regarding Reuben Foster. We take matters of this nature seriously and are gathering all pertinent information.”
Again, we are not comfortable speculating either way, but what we are comfortable enough to say is that this is certainly not a “good look” for the young rising star and could be a serious threat to his future as a 49er.
We will be sure to keep a close eye on the situation and bring you the latest as soon as possible.
