As our season hangs in the balance, seemingly on a week to week basis, the 49ers open divisional play this Sunday with a visit from the Cardinals.

Let’s be honest here, the Cardinals are an awful football team who has yet to experience a win in this young season.

There does appear to be a silver lining for this club, as they have given the keys to this slow motion car wreck to 1st round draft pick Josh Rosen. Rosen made his much anticipated debut as the starter last week in a heartbreaking loss to divisional foe, Seattle. Rosen was solid, but not spectacular. As he and the Cardinals fell to 0-3.

This will be his first start on the road and look for the 49er defense to cause him plenty of problems in Levi stadium this Sunday afternoon.

The 49ers are a banged up football team for it to be so early in the season, having said that, there should be no reason for them not to put this one in the win column, going up against a team that is averaging just over 9 points per game. The Cardinals offense has been putrid. As for the 49ers, they don’t seem to have any trouble putting points on the board. The untimely turnovers did them in against the Chargers last week. None more critical than the pick tossed by C.J. Beathard in the late stages of the fourth quarter.

49ers 24 Cardinals 13

Marquise Goodwin, Matt Breida, and Richard Sherman practiced on a limited basis this week and are listed as questionable for the game.
