Whats going on Faithfuls?! My last few weeks of Bold Predictions have been way off… so in attempts to do a little reverse psychology, I will try to trick the football gods!

1. Damontre Moore shines in his debut – Filling in for the injured Ronald Blair, I expect Moore to make the most of his new opportunity. His assignment will be simple: HIT THE QUARTERBACK! Easier said than done against the elusive Murray, but he will get it done! The official prediction that will be reversed is 2 missed tackles, and -3 QB pressures and -2 QB hits combined with -1 sack. A stat line that will get any newcomer benched (The reverse is 2 tackles for loss or stops, 3 QB pressures, 2 QB hits and 1 sack)

2. Jimmie Ward reminds us why he was a first round draft pick – Ward has been doing a wonderful job of not being a liability in the secondary, but other than an occasional big hit, he hasn’t exactly WOW’d anyone, right? That changes today. Reversed Prediction is 1 dropped pick, 6 missed tackles and 1 fall down on a failed blitz (1 interception, 6 tackles and a key QB pressure/hurry).

3. Mike McGlinchey has a turnaround game – The sophomore tackle isn’t looking much like the 1st round pick we had hoped he’d be. The slump is a real thing for him but today he overcomes in a major way. Last week we saw both tackles getting worked by Clowney, but I think that part of that is complacency. Imagine going to the sideline to get advise from your veteran leader in Joe Staley and what that conversation was like. “Joe, Clowney is getting the best of me and I can’t get a read on him! Any tips man?” “No man, he’s whooping my a** too! The guy is just ON right now. Keep trying.” “Yeah, but Joe, there has to be something we can do!” “Sometimes Mike, a player is just having a game. Let’s just hope Jimmy can get rid of the ball quickly.” The fortunes won’t turn around in the Reverse Prediction here: McGlinchey allows 3 sacks, 5 hurries and and a forced fumble (runs into Jimmy and causes the call to come loose)! That would be something to see! (Mike McGlinchey has a perfect game and won’t allow a single hit, sack hurry or pressure. He then makes a key blitz pickup that allows Jimmy to make a big play!)

4. Kyle Shanahan shows what he’s got without his best weapons – George Kittle; OUT. Emmanuel Sanders; extremely limited. Matt Breida; OUT. Dante Pettis and Kendrick Bourne; First WR duo to play in a game with 1 hand each! But Shanahan will devise a play that shows why Jed York insisted on getting him in the building! Here are the Reverse Predictions: The offense falls completely flat! 120 minutes in time of possession and 112 passing yards. The team struggles to move the ball and there will be a ton of penalties! The running backs finish with 312 rushing yards as Garoppolo can’t find the time to stand! (72 offensive plays, 454 total offensive yards, 2 offensive penalties, 1 turnover, 50% 3rd down conversion, 42 passing attempts, 33 completions, 342 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 30 rushing attempts for 112 yards, 33:30 time of possession, 27 total first downs [17 passing, 8 rushing and 2 by penalty] and overall domination!)

Thats if for this week’s Bold Predictions! Let’s see if this reverse psychology thing works!
