The San Francisco 49ers are planning to sign former Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Lions tight end Levine Toilolo per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The former 4th round selection in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Stanford hauled in 21 catches for 263 yards for the Lions last year. Levine has familiarity with Kyle Shanahan’s system while the 49ers head coach was the Falcon’s Offensive Coordinator. He is not a splashy signing and could end up being just a camp body but could add some solid depth to the tight end position if he’s able to make the team. Toilolo will battle it out with veteran Garrett Celek, recent 6th round draft pick Kaden Smith and Ross Dwelly for a roster spot. In a corresponding move, the team announced that they have waived safety Cameron Glenn to make room for Toilolo.
