The 49ers re-signed right guard Mike Person on a three-year, $9 Million deal with $3 Million in guarantees per Adam Schefter. He was scheduled to become a unrestricted free agent on March 13th. He was originally drafted by the team in the 7th Round of the 2011 NFL Draft out of Montana State. Person signed a one-year deal last off-season and started 16 games for the 49ers and ranked third out of the team’s lineman per PFF. Bringing the experienced lineman back was a smart move for the team even if they end up deciding to upgrade even further in the off-season. Person is expected to compete for playing time at the right guard position with Joshua Garnett.
